Specs
Kepler_L2 (opens in a new tab) claims, as reported on 24 September, that the PS6 chip has taped out, with its GPU targeting around 40 TFLOPS of theoretical throughput. The leaker also suggests this could point to a launch window in late 2027. None of this has been confirmed.
Controller
A Sony patent (opens in a new tab), first spotted by IGN, describes PlayStation controllers with NFC that could read a credit or gift card to pay for PlayStation Store purchases. One report links the idea to the PS6, though the patent is not shown to name the console and may never be used.
