About
About ps6.news
An independent, unofficial site that tracks PlayStation 6 rumours, leaks and official announcements, and traces every claim back to where it started.
What you’ll find here
- A daily digest of what changed, rather than a stream of thin articles. On quiet days there is no digest.
- Topic hubs for the questions people ask most: release date, price, specs and more.
How it works
Software monitors official Sony channels, gaming news outlets and video channels throughout the day. AI models help sort what is new from what is repeated, and draft summaries from the material they find. A person then reviews every post and every change before anything is published. Nothing appears on this site without that human approval.
How we report
Every claim about the PS6 has a status, and the way we write about it follows that status.
- Rumoured
- Reported by one original source.
- Corroborated
- Reported by two or more independent origins. Outlets repeating the same leaker do not count.
- Confirmed
- Sony has stated it officially.
- Debunked
- Officially denied, or contradicted by stronger evidence.
- Superseded
- Was true or credible, later replaced.
- Rumours are attributed and hedged. We write “reportedly” or “according to…” and name the original source. Only statements from Sony are written as fact, and we link to Sony saying them.
- We trace claims to their origin. Twenty outlets repeating one leaker count as one source, not twenty. A claim is only “corroborated” when independent sources report it.
- Every factual sentence links to a source. Each post ends with the full list of sources we used.
- Patents and job listings are signals, not features. We write “Sony has filed a patent for…”, never “the PS6 will have…”.
- We summarise and link; we don’t reproduce. Quotes are rare, short, and at most one per source.
What we leave out
Rehashes with nothing new, opinion pieces, clickbait roundups, unsourced “the PS6 could…” speculation, and anything we can’t trace to an original source.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we correct it and update the post.
