Privacy and cookies

ps6.news doesn’t ask you to sign up and doesn’t track you itself. The ads on some pages come from Google, which uses cookies, and you choose whether it can.

What we collect

You don’t need an account to read ps6.news, and we don’t run analytics. Like any website, ours is delivered by services that see your IP address and basic details of each request:

  • Vercel, which hosts the site, uses them to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, and keeps short-lived logs.
  • Cloudflare serves our images (media.ps6.news) and handles our domain name in the same way.

We don’t set cookies for readers. The only cookie ps6.news sets itself is the login for our editors’ admin area.

Advertising

We show ads from Google AdSense on our home page, posts and topic pages, never on this page. To choose and measure ads, Google and the advertising companies it works with use cookies, local storage, web beacons, IP addresses and device identifiers, and may place and read cookies in your browser.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to ps6.news or to other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to ps6.news and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s My Ad Center, and opt out of other vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Your choices

In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, Google asks before it uses cookies or your data for advertising, with a message on your first visit to a page with an ad. You can consent, refuse, or choose purpose by purpose. Refusing is as easy as consenting, and the site works the same either way. If you refuse, Google may still show you limited ads, which aren’t personalised but may use cookies or local storage to detect fraud.

To change your choice, use Privacy and cookie settings at the foot of any page with an ad, or the privacy link Google adds to those pages.

In US states with privacy laws, Google may show a “Do not sell or share my personal information” link, which lets you opt out of ads based on your data.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can withdraw consent at any time, as above. We hold very little: we don’t keep logs of readers ourselves, and Google handles the data its ads use under its own privacy policy.

Contact us at help@ps6.news. If you’re unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
